Sculptures in the South of Morocco (15 days).

Day 01: Marrakech

Day 02: Marrakech => Telouet => Ait Ben Haddou => Ouarzazate

Departure from Marrakech to Ouarzazate in a 4 WDs crossing the col of Tizi-N-Tichka (2260 m altitude) and several touristic resorts. Lunch break in Telouet, a short visit to the famous Kasbah of Glaoui. Then, a visit to the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou (world heritage of humanity by UNESCO) in the way to Ouarzazate. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 03: Ouarzazate => Amethyst road => Skoura

After breakfast, departure to the Anougmar mountain and its Flan characterized by a richness in primary and secondary fossils. Arrival to Tiguert village where some crystals of amethyst lay (variety of impressive color). Lunch in the village and take off to the palmeraie of Skoura.

Night stay at the Inn.

Day 04: Skoura => Tazouda => Dades Valley => Toudra Gorge

Cross the palmeraie of Skoura and its beautiful Kasbahs. Drive by the site of dinosaurs (Tazoudasaurus) which is located in the village of Tazouda.

The trip continues to the Valley of roses and Dades.

Night stay at a hotel in Tinghir

Day 05:Gorge of Toudra => Erfoud => Merzouga

A morning walk in the Palmeraie. Continue the visit to Erfoud and stop by the factory of fossilized marble (Trilobite, Orthoceras, Goniatite…) all along the road to Merzouga.

Arrival to Erg Chebbi. Dine and spend the night in the middle of the dunes.

Day 06: Merzouga => Rocky sculpture (Ancient residence) => Ouzina => Mharech

Departure for Taous and a visit to the prehistoric tumus (habitat) positioned in a fabulous desert space passing by on-site carvings. On to the village of Ouzina, then to Mharche. Spend the night stay at the Inn.

Day 07: Mharech => Tazarine => Sculpture of Ait Ouazik => Nkob

A morning visit to the rocks of the Trilobite through a track until a paved road is reached. Arrival to Tazarine and a visit of the mesmerizing site of the sculpture of Ait Ouazik. On to n’kob. Spend the night at a nearby hotel.

Day 08: Nkob => Draa Valley => Sculptures of Foum Chenna => Agdz

After the village of Nkob, we’ll reach the Draa Valley with its architectural, ethnic and social diversity. Pay a visit to the beautiful site of the Foum Chenna sculptures (Tifinagh writing is clearly marked), continue towards Agdz. Night at the Kasbah.

Day 09: Agdz => Foum Zguid => Rocky Sculptures =>  Tata

Departure from Agdz to the mine of Bouazzer (Cobalt) via the road of Foum Zguid where the geological formations and landscapes are impressive. A break is called every now and then before reaching Tata. A night stay in Tata.

Day 10: Tata => Tafraoute (painted rocks)

Cross the road between Tata and Tafraoute to enjoy the fascinating desert and semi desert landscapes. Enjoy also the architectural fields of cereal of Souss. Arrival to Tafraoute and a visit to some famous painted rocks carvings.

Day 11: Tafraoute => Agadir => Essaouira 

On the road to Ait Baha, you will discover the Kasbah Tissergat (Chez Jamal), and then continue to Agadir driving alongside the coast and passing through Argan forests. Arrival to Essaouira. Spend the night at the hotel.

Day 12: Essaouira

Free day.

Day 13: Marrakech

Breakfast in Essaouira then set back off to Marrakech.

Day 14: Marrakech

Guided tour of the historical monuments of the red city. Night at the hotel.

Day 15: Marrakech

Early breakfast then transfer to Marrakech Airport (RAK).
